Here is the original script for my school Podcast assignment

Hello! My name is Ruby Nightingale and this is my puppet Punch. (Puppet Punch waving to everyone). I am out in the Duluth Minnesota DWP hiking trail. This trail runs parallel and connects with the Superior trail and the biking trail that leads all the way to Minneapolis city which is 155 miles from where I am sitting. I like to go out here and photograph the plants, birds and natural herbs that grow along these trails. I have been hiking in the woods photographing plants since I was 12 years old. There was a man named Paul whom I called Fern person that would take me mountain climbing in Vermont. Fern person would show me all the plants and birds. He would tell me their scientific names and their normal names. One time we found a plant on Mount Pisgah that was a native of Minnesota. Fern Person got so excited about finding it in Vermont. He photographed it and documented it in his little book. I recently found that plant next to my house and it made me think of him. Now I do the same thing as Fern person, by photographing and documenting the flowers that I find. I do not know what ever became of Fern person but he made a difference in my life and for that I will always be grateful. I hope someday I can make a difference in people’s lives the same way that he did. Good bye! (Punch and I wave goodbye and smile to the audience.

How to make Herbal Salves

In this video I am making an herbal salve with herbs that I harvested from the woods and from my aloe plant. It has Jewel-weed, goldenrod, wild carrot, carrot, plantain, clover, carrot, and sandalwood scent. I soaked the herbs in a pint of olive oil for one month in a covered container and in a cool dark place. I wrung out the herbs and then I filtered them in an old coffee filter. I heated the oil and melted beeswax in it.

Golden Rod Lore

I use Golden Rod for Skin Salves. I soak it in olive oil for a month. I strain it and I melt bees wax into it for a base. I use a scented oil to make it sell good when I am done. It works a lot like neosporin on cuts. I write more about Golden Rod here https://www.facebook.com/Rubysherblore
